The 2017 Porsche 911 GT3

The new Porsche 911 GT3 has made its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The new model gets even more downforce, power and a manual option.

The updated model runs on a new powertrain with an improved cylinder head design and hydraulic valves adjusters. it runs on a naturally aspirated 493bhp 4.0-litre flat six engine and is available with both a seven-speed PDK transmission and a reinstated six-speed manual gearbox.

The 2017 GT3 with the seven-speed PDK will sprint from 0-62mph in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 199mph. The six-speed manual option is marginally slower, capable of 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds with a flat put speed of 200mph.

The GT3 has aerodynamic improvements including a revised underbody and adjusted differ and rear spoiler. The improvements reduce the drag coefficient and have increased the cars downforce at high speeds.

The PASM adjustable dampers system has wider capabilities and steering bushings have been made stiffer for agility. Rear-wheel steering and dynamic engine mounts come as standard.

The interior is now offered with carbon fibre framed racing seats as well as 3D colour printed Alcantara trim. There is an updated PCM infotainment system featuring a smartphone connected Track Precision app and a Connect Plus module.

Only 3,000-4,000 are expected to be made and deliveries will start from early summer 2017. Pricing will start from around £111,802.
