2018 Mercedes G-Class Spotted Testing
The latest Mercedes-Benz G-Class has been spotted carrying out testing on German roads. Originally produced for the military, the G-Class found its feet among a crowded market place in 1990. Now, the 2018 G-Class offers a refreshed design that hasn’t been changed since cosmetic upgrades in 2015.
While not changing the mould dramatically, the new model will be wider and should feature the latest Mercedes technology found on the current E-Class. The model pictured is expected to be the firecracker G63 AMG variant. Like other 63 models, expect lashings of power, red brake callipers and large discs and, as pictured here, a very distinctive side exhaust. The G63 is anticipated to offer the V8 engine, which should hopefully deliver around 600bhp. Those not interested in straight line speed can expect a range of diesel and petrol offerings to feature in the new line-up.
The new 2018 G-Class is expected to be unveiled in the coming months, ahead of a spring 2018 showroom launch.
