The 2,080bhp hybrid Arash AF10

The adventurous UK hypercar designer, Arash Farbound, has released a powerful hybrid version of the Arash AF10.

The new hybrid is powered by a 6.2-litre V8 supercharged engine producing 900bhp and 4 electric motors that produce a whopping 1,180bhp, linked to 5 gearboxes. The collaborative hybrid powertrain has been coined the ‘Warp Drive’ with a total of 2,080bhp and 1681lb ft of torque. The V8 engine is a tuned version of a GM crate engine, and each wheel is linked to its own electric motor.

The hybrid is capable of 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds with a top speed of over 200mph. The car features four-wheel drive and the ‘Warp Drive’ powertrain is claimed to weigh only 280kgs. The car is built on a 13-piece carbon-fibre and aluminium tub, providing strength and making the car very light. There is the choice of a 6-speed manual or a paddleshift automatic gearbox for the V8 and each electric motor is linked to a 2-speed transmission.

The new hypercar is available as a racer for an added premium, adapted to include a roll cage, intercom and fire extinguisher. The original non-hybrid version is still available, featuring a 550bhp V8 engine, costing £350,000. The hybrid AF10 starts at £1.1 million.
