Ford Sierra Cosworth set to fetch 6 figures at upcoming auction

A low-mileage Sierra Cosworth RS500 will be offered by Silverstone Auctions, at the upcoming NEC Classic Motor Show this November.

Discovered amongst a Ferrari collection by Joe Macari in 2006, this RS500 was sold in 2007 for £28,000 and has been stored in a climate controlled storage unit ever since. This RS500 has only 6000 miles on the clock and recently underwent a £4000 overhaul and service at a Ford specialist, which saw all the fluids being replaced, as well as the belts and battery. The car will be sold with a full MOT.

Unlike a lot of models, this pristine model remains completely unmodified and retains the original stock 225bhp. This model is also one of only 56 white versions made, with most of the models produced in black, further adding to the rarity of this car.

An estimate of £100,000-£115,000 has been placed on the car, based on the fact a similar, low-mileage RS500 fetched a world record price of £115,000 earlier this year.
