ABT release 522bhp Audi RS5-R

German tuner ABT have just released the striking RS5-R, a ramped up version of the already impressive Audi RS5 which offers 443bhp and 433lb-ft. of torque. This tuned edition still retains the RS5’s 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6, but has been increased by 80bhp to now offer 522bhp and 443lb ft. of torque.

As you would imagine, the increase in power has led to a reduced 0-62mph time of 3.6 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than the 3.9 seconds from the stock RS5. The improved acceleration should sound better too, as ABT have addressed a previously quiet RS5 with a new exhaust system, which comes complete with a quartet of carbon fibre tail pipes.

As well as upgrading the power, ABT have upgraded the stock suspension with sport stabilisers and adjustable springs. The outside has been modified too, with a selection of unpainted carbon fibre elements including a new rear diffuser and spoiler, as well as fitting new 21-inch alloys.

Prices and a release date are yet to be confirmed; however more will be released when the RS5-R makes its first public appearance at the upcoming 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Although we do know the RS5-R will sadly be limited to 50 units.
