All-electric Porsche Mission E gets the green light

Porsche has confirmed its all-electric Mission E concept car will go into production by the end of the decade.

The Mission E first debuted at the Frankfurt motor show earlier this year, and Porsche Chairman, Dr Wolfgang Porsche says its development “makes a clear statement about the future of the brand”.

Porsche claim the four door, 4-wheel drive sports car will sprint from 0-62mph in less than 3.5 seconds, hitting 124mph in 12 seconds.  The two motors will deliver 600bhp and a top speed of over 155mph.

The all-electric car will have a range of over 300 miles, and new ‘rapid-charge’ technology will allow it to recharge to 80 percent in less than 15 minutes.  A starting price of £100,000 has been mooted, but this, along with the final spec could change considerably by the time the car is released.
