Artcurial to auction rare 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta

The prestigious French auction house, Artcurial, has announced a stunning Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta will star at the Le Mans Classic auction in July.

The steel-bodied Ferrari, chassis No.2917GT, was the centrepiece of the Paris Motor show in 1961. It was originally painted Azzuro Blue however the first owner had it repainted by Carrosserie Chapron. Since then the 250 has changed owner very few times and today is painted Classic Red.

The current owner is a well-known collector living in Brittany, France. Remarkably the rare classic has been in the current owner’s hands for the last 47 years and the car has never left France. Since 1969 the car has been kept in fantastic condition, with no expense spared to keep the special Ferrari in prime shape.

The sale will take place at the Le Mans Classic event on the 9th July 2016. This beautifully kept Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta is expected to draw a crowd and should fetch upwards of €9 million.
