Aston Martin DBS Superleggera seen testing at the Nurburgring
Aston Martin’s upcoming Vanquish S replacement, the DBS Superleggera, has been spotted testing at the Nurburgring with only a light disguise. The new Superleggera will replace the Vanquish S as the marques top flagship model.
The new Aston was seen testing on the famous track in only a light disguise. A matte black paint job and some added panels and tape do little to disguise the new model and give us a good indication of how it will look. Looking at the spy shots it is clear the Superleggera will share certain elements with another Aston. A similar roof, slim hips and curved rear haunches strike a stark resemblance to the DB11. This new model will have a large grille opening, a big front splitter and a fixed rear spoiler. Given that Superleggera translates to ‘super light’ in Italian, expect the model to have a carbon fibre bonnet as well as potentially other body panels made out of the exotic material.
There’s no indication of the potential performance as of yet, however the Superleggera will use an uprated version of the 5.2-litre twin-turbo from the DB11. Given that the Vanquish S produced 595bhp from a naturally aspirated V12, it’s safe to assume the new model will have over 600bhp. The flagship Aston is expected to go on sale in 2019, with an unconfirmed asking price of over £200k.
