Aston Martin reveals 595bhp Vanquish S

Aston Martin has unveiled a new high-performance Vanquish at the LA Auto Show. The range-topping Vanquish S has updated styling and more power.

The new model from Aston Martin receives a series of chassis and engine tweaks, in addition to the revised styling. The car has been tweaked to be more responsive and aggressive.  The Vanquish S runs on the same naturally-aspirated 5.9-litre V12 engine, however it has an increased output of 595bhp and 465lb ft of torque, 27bhp more than the standard.  The car now has larger intake manifolds which helps improve airflow at high speeds, resulting in a 0-62mph time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 201mph.

The new Vanquish features a recalibrated gearbox, the eight-speed automatic transmission delivers quicker shifts. There is a new suspension set-up which is more agile featuring damper alterations and spring rate tweaks.

The exterior now comes with a new bodykit, comprised of carbonfibre. There is a larger rear diffuser, a new front splitter, quad exhaust pipes and diamond-turned alloys. The interior is finished in premium Bridge of Weir Caithness leather, which is available along with a host of trim options and the cabin features a satin carbon dashboard. Apple CarPlay and a Bang & Olufsen sound system come standard in the Vanquish S.

The Vanquish S will be available in Coupe or Volante versions. Pricing starts at £199,950 and the first deliveries are expected to begin by the end of 2016.
