Audi’s new TT RS

The new Audi TT RS has landed in the UK, and will go on sale when order books open later this month.

The second generation TT RS is the most powerful yet, and is offered in both Coupe and Roadster models.

The new model runs on a tweaked version of Audi’s turbocharged 2.5 litre five cylinder petrol engine, producing 395bhp. The TT RS is the first model to receive Audi’s new engine. The block is aluminium, which helps with the new car’s overall weight savings.

The performance for both the Coupe and Roadster has significantly increased. The Coupe is capable of sprinting from 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds and the Roadster in 3.9 seconds. Both have a limited top-speed of 155mph, however with the Dynamic pack it can be raised to 174mph.

Both are fitted with Quattro four-wheel drive and a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox.  The car comes standard with steering mounted shift paddles and launch control software.

Other upgrades include new front and rear bumpers, large fixed rear spoiler and oval exhaust pipes. The cabin is fitted with a state-of-the- art 12.3-inch display with Audi’s Virtual Cockpit.

The new TT RS Coupe starts at £51,800 and the convertible is priced at £53,550. Only 50 models are expected to be sold to the UK in the first production run and order books will start at the end of September.
