Audi’s new 400bhp RS3

Audi unveiled the new generation of RS3 during the Paris Motor Show. The new model boasts one of the most powerful 5-cylinder engines in the market.

The long awaited four-door saloon is faster and more powerful than before. The new model runs on the same new engine as the TT RS, a five cylinder 2.5-litre TFSI engine, tuned to produce 394bhp and 354lb ft of torque.

The car is capable of 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds with an unlimited flat out speed of 174mph. Power is sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.

The RS3 features new advanced technology including new ESC software improving handling and even allowing drifting in Sport Mode. The ride height has been lowered by 25mm and the track is wider than before. The new model receives a new fixed spoiler, larger tailpipes, flared arches and a new diffuser. The suspension has been tweaked, new brakes added and carbon ceramic discs are available for an added premium.

The interior gets new sport seats finished in Nappa leather, a 12.3-inch display with smartphone connectivity and Audi’s Virtual Cockpit is optional. RS3 badging and logos run throughout the cabin.

Pricing and delivery information are yet to be released by Audi, however the new model should be priced in the region of £40,000.
