Black Bess for Beijing
Bugatti will be launching their fifth and penultimate limited edition Bugatti Veyron at the Beijing Motor Show. It will be named “Black Bess” and will be centred on the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. Exclusivity is vital and thus only three Black Bess models will be made, in keeping with the Legends series. Bugatti are recognising a significant name from the past, the 1913 Type 18 ‘Black Bess’ which was first owned by aviation pioneer Roland Garros. The lightweight carbon fibre chassis has exquisite black and gold detailing, with elaborate gold lines running from beneath the headlights over the front wing mirrors towards the rear to modernise the model. The interior hosts light beige leather which is contrasted by ‘Havanna’ tone trim dashboard and door interiors. Reverting back to the historic model, the steering wheel rim has been designed using crimson leather. Further design details include hand painted sketches on the doors, a nameplate saying “Les Légendes de Bugatti” for the centre console and interior door sills and a Legend series dancing elephant finished off in gold for this particular edition. Black Bess is to be powered by a 8-litre W16 engine which produces 1184bhp and 1500Nm or torque. The model is capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in an impressive 2.6 seconds and has a top speed of 254mph. Bugatti have not released any price details thus far, however there are suggestions you will not be getting much change from £2million.
