BMW confirm M5 Competition Pack due in 2018
BMW have confirmed a new M5 Competition Pack will be released sometime this year, and that the 2018 MotoGP M5 safety car will be a test bed for the M5 Competition Pack.
In a similar theme to the M3 and M4 Competition Packs, buyers can expect the M5 Competition Pack to feature drivetrain and chassis upgrades, which will give better handling and a slight increase in power over the normal M5. An M4 Competition Pack gets new adaptive dampers, new 20-inch alloys, a recalibrated active rear differential, and an extra 20bhp over the standard M4. Although not major changes, these tweaks turned the M4 into a more focused driver’s car.
Customers can expect the M5 Competition Pack to feature similar upgrades that the M4 received, as well as potentially boosting the power to over 600bhp. BMW haven’t confirmed an exact release date yet, just that it will be launched sometime in 2018.
