BMW release 30 Jahre Limited Edition M3

To celebrate 30 years of the BMW M3, the German marque is launching a special edition M3 called the 30 Jahre Edition.

The first E30 M3 hit the roads in 1986 and to mark 30 years of M3 production BMW has unveiled a limited edition of the current M3. The 30 Jahre Edition M3 receives more power and styling updates across the board.

The special edition comes with BMW’s competitive package as standard, boosting the power output to 444bhp with 406lb ft of torque. The package includes electronically-controlled Adaptive M suspension with recalibrated dampers, springs and active differential. The stability control system has been tweaked and anti-roll bars are included. The three driving modes (Comfort, Sport and Sport+) have been altered in-line with the pack adjustments.

The special edition features the same engine, linked to a dual-clutch automatic gearbox, delivering 0-62mph in 4 seconds and a limited top speed of 155mph. The car also receives new forged 20 inch alloys with a bespoke star spoke design and carbon ceramic brakes come as standard.

Aesthetic additions include a unique ‘Frozen Silver’ paintjob with contrasting black glossy elements across the exterior. Dark carbonfibre finishes have been given to the rear diffuser, spoiler, mirror caps and front splitter.

The interior has been jazzed up, receiving two M sports seats in the front finished in a two-tone design with embroidered 30 Jahre badges. The cabin features carbonfibre and premium leather throughout. The seat belts and stitching in the 3-spoke steering wheel are finished with BMW’s distinctive racing tri-colour stripes.

Tech upgrades include a new top of the range sound system from Harman/Kardon, a head-up display and adaptive LED headlights.

Only 30 of the BMW 30 Jahre Editions are headed to the UK, with first deliveries expected this summer. The special edition M3 is priced at £82,675.
