BMW Release Details of New X5M and X6M High Performance SUV’s

BMW have unveiled their new and improved X5M and X6M high performance SUV’s ahead of their LA Auto Show debut.

The updated model brings with it a series of external developments and internal, technological improvements to match its new streamline look.

Several of the new features that the vehicle boasts contribute to the SUV’s becoming the most powerful all-wheel drives of BMW’s portfolio so far. Included in theses are a 19bhp jump to 566bhp, 6000-6500rpm and the peak torque rising by 53 lb ft to 553lb ft. As well as these modifications, changes to the suspension system on both vehicles have been made to ensure an even smoother ride.

The twin turbo V8 4.4litre engine combined with the 30kg weight saving has enabled the X5M and X6M to reach a top speed of 155mph, (with the option for owners to raise the top speed to  174mph)and 0-60mph in just 4.0 seconds. There’s also an added bonus with CO2 emissions improving by 20%. Making the X5M and X6M even more desirable.

The X5M and X6M have undergone more modern and streamline styling sporting wider bumpers, rear diffusers, side gills and impressive new door mirrors. The quad exhausts look perfectly at home and the flared wheel arches curve effortlessly over the 20inch standard wheels. The 2 new colour finishes of Long Beach Blue Metallic and Donnington Grey Metallic both complement the new sporty interior with a carbon fibre dashboard, sport style seats and aluminium 8 speed automatic gear leaver.

The new BMW provides some serious competition to the Porsche Cayenne and the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG. Prices are expected to start with the X5M at £90,170 and the X6M at £93,070, going on sale in April 2015.
