Brabham reveal £1m track-only supercar

Brabham has revealed its new 700bhp track-only supercar that will offer a race car experience, similar to the McLaren Senna, for a cool £1 million before options and taxes.

This limited-run track-only behemoth, called BT62, uses a naturally aspirated 5.4-litre Brabham built V8 engine, which generates 700bhp and 492lb ft. of torque at 6200rpm. Brabham have called upon their 70 years of experience of building race cars and injected similar technology and manufacturing techniques into the BT62. The model will feature a chassis set up similar to those used in GT racing, as well as carbon fibre body panels and external aerodynamic aids.

Inside, Brabham have managed to slot the BT62 somewhere between a stripped-out supercar and a full-blown race car. The interior and dashboard features a suite of carbon fibre and Alcantara finishes, as well as a complicated racing-inspired steering wheel.

Just 70 BT62’s are due to be built at first, with the first 35 being finished in a livery paying homage to Brabham’s 35 Grand Prix wins. The second run of 35 will be able to be personalised to the each owners’ individual tastes.
