Fastest ever Lotus road car unveiled

Lotus have unveiled their fastest ever road car, the Exige Cup 430. Featuring the 430bhp supercharged V6 found in the Evora GT430, the cup 430 lapped the Lotus test circuit at Hethel in 1m 24.8 seconds, which is now the fastest time ever posted by a Lotus road car.

With a 0-60mph time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 180mph, the Cup 430 is no slouch. Boasting suspension upgrades, carbon fibre bumpers and tweaks to the bodywork and aerofoils, means this car benefits from increased downforce at higher speeds and a dry weight of 1056kg.

The previous Exige Cup 380 was the most extreme Exige produced by Lotus. However, this model had a limited production number, whereas the Cup 430 isn’t a limited production model, so supply won’t be a problem. That said, this model isn’t cheap with an asking price of £99,800.
