Ferrari 625 Targa Florio to be auctioned in Monaco
This outstanding Vignale-bodied Ferrari 625 Targa Florio will be auctioned by Bonhams at their Monaco sale on 11th May.
Powered by a Tipo 555 F1 engine, the ex-works car is one of only three Targa Florio’s ever built and was driven by Mike Hawthorn, Umberto Maglioli and Luis Milan. The car was sold to Argentinean racer Luis Milán, who repainted it in its current colour scheme of maroon with grey lower sides.
The car made its racing debut at the 1953 Autodrome Grand Prix race at Monza, driven by Mike Hawthorn and after an eventful career was rediscovered in a Napolese scrap yard in the early 1970s.
Extensively restored by Carrozzeria Nova Rinascente in the early 2000s, this outstanding car is expected to sell for between €4,500,000-6,500,000.
