Ferrari launch 710bhp 488 Pista

Ferrari have announced a new, lighter 488 called the 488 Pista. Taking inspiration from the 488 motorsport variants, this new 488 features lightweight materials, aerodynamic and electronic improvements and most importantly, more power.

The 488 Pista will be the most powerful V8-engined Ferrari the ever built by the brand and will offer 710bhp and 568lb ft. of torque from the turbocharged 3.9-litre engine. It’s claimed the Pista will hit 62mph in just 2.9-seconds, 0-124mph in 7.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 211mph.

The Pista’s impressive stats have been aided by an extensive weight reduction program. The new car will feature carbon fibre front and rear bumpers, as well as an engine cover and rear wing also made out of the exotic material. Aerodynamic tweaks have led to a 20% increase in downforce over the 488 GTB, which includes an F1 style S-Duct at the front and ‘vortex generators’ on the underside of the car.

The new 488 Pista will be on show at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, with order books expected to open just after, for an expected price of £215,000.
