Ford reveal official GT performance figures

Ford has finally revealed the official performance statistics for the new GT after the first deliveries for the initial 500 limited run begin to hit the roads.  The new GT is the fastest yet.

The new highly anticipated GT runs on a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 mid-mounted engine. The incredibly fast car produces 638bhp and 550lb ft of torque. It has a confirmed 0-62mph time of 3 seconds and impressive top speed of 216mph.

The Ford supercar has been designed to rival the McLaren 675LT, Ferrari 458 Speciale and 488. Ford raced the new GT, McLaren and the 458 Speciale at the Calabogie Motorsports Park in Canada. The GT came out on top with the quickest lap. The lap time was 2:09.80 for the GT, 2:10.88 for the McLaren and the slowest was the 458 Ferrari with 2:12.90 time.

The first batch of 500 GT’s have been sold and are on their way, however with so many applications Ford are still carefully selecting the next batch of 500 owners.
