Four Cylinder Power for Porsche Macan

Four Cylinder Power for Porsche Macan

Porsche have revealed official details on their new entry-level four cylinder petrol powered Macan. The new Macan was shown at the Beijing Motor Show and is going to be made available in the UK on special order; however you’ll need to be quick if you want to get your hands on one as there are only low volumes intended for the UK. This will be the first Porsche since the 968 model to use a four-cylinder engine for power. The new Macan uses an engine taken from its parent company’s Volkswagen EA888 which is also used in Audi, Skoda and Seat models. The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine generates similar power to the Volkswagen Golf GTI Performance Package, developing 234bhp and 258lb ft of torque between 1500-4500rpm. Performance figures indicate the Macan to accelerate from 0-62mph in 6.9 seconds with a top speed of 139mph. The new Macan can be easily recognised by the standard 18-inch wheels and twin trapezoidal shaped tail pipes. The entry-level Porsche Macan is available now on order for £40,276.
