Introducing the Avatar Roadster

The all-new British marque Avatar has pulled the covers off its first production car. The Roadster is a track-ready convertible sports car.

The Devon based brand launched their first model at Autosport International. The lightweight mid-engined two-seater is based on motorsport inspirations, while still being comfortable for the road.

The Roadster weighs in at only 695kg. it features composite  bodywork and sits on a laser cut space frame. The car includes Rota wheels and Nitron dampers. Optional extras for the track-ready car include limited slip differential, roll cage, rear wing, fire extinguisher and foam coated fuel tank. Track recording instruments include a GoPro kit and data logger.

There is a choice of two Ford engines; 2.0-litre or 2.3-litre turbocharged EcoBoost. The 2-litre produces 250bhp and 295lb ft of torque. It is capable of 0-62mph in 4 seconds and has a top speed of 145mph. The larger 2.3-litre engine produces an increased 350bhp and 369lb ft or torque. The 2.3-litre hits 165mph flat out and 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds.

The Roadster comes standard with a Ford 6-speed manual gearbox. Buyers can however swap it out for a seven-speed paddle shift sequential transmission.

The Roadster can transition smoothly into a comfortable road car with heaters, air conditioning, a roof and audio system linked with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
