Italdesign unleash 205mph Supercar
The renowned 1960’s founded design house, Italdesign, have revealed the very first car under their new own-brand marque. The Italdesign Automobili Speciali supercar will debut at Geneva.
Giorgetto Giugiaro founded Italdesign in the late 60’s. The company has successfully designed a range of prominent cars for 49 years. The new bespoke sub-brand will specialise in only limited edition supercars produced in small quantities. The first will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and 4 more will be released before the end of the year.
The debut model will be a coach-built 5.2-litre V10 carbon-bodied Supercar. The unnamed car is 5 metres long and 1970mm wide, it uses a modular carbon fibre and aluminium chassis. Performance for the supercar is quoted at 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 205mph. Italdesign has combined racing ability and road utility describing the car as “two sides of one medal”.
The Italian design house has focused on perfectly balancing styling and engineering. The styling is striking with flowing lines, while retaining aerodynamic integrity. The design language is similar to Lamborghini. There are prominent front splitters, a racing inspired spoiler, side fins and large diffuser.
The first Italdesign supercar will be launched at the Geneva Motor Show where its name and full specification will be disclosed. Pricing is expected to start at around £1.3 Million.
