Jaguar Project 7 Previewed at Goodwood

The Jaguar Special Vehicles Operations team have revealed the Jaguar F-Type Project 7 at Goodwood Festival of Speed. Powered by a 567bhp 5.0 litre supercharged V8 engine; this model is on track to be the fastest ever road going Jaguar. The Project 7 model accelerates from 0-62mph in just 3.9 seconds, with a top speed limited to 186mph.

The Project 7 Jaguar is a two-seater with the classic D type design and an asymmetrical bump towards the rear. Jaguar have stayed true to their original concept plans, with the Project 7 model having a smaller windscreen than the F-Type and a carbonfibre body kit including a new front splitter, rear diffuser and larger side skirts, thus, reducing the weight by 80kg. The Project 7 model has a removable fabric roof which can be folded and stored away in the boot, similar to the 2010 Porsche Boxster Spyder. Optional “Project 7” badged door sills and a four-point racing harness are available with this new model, along with an Alcantara steering wheel, which is also available in leather. The Project 7 model is available in red, white, blue or green with white circles and stripes as an option. Due to the custom made nature of the model, Jaguar are flexible in allowing customers who are willing to pay extra to have any colour and trim they desire.

The chassis has been upgraded to include bespoke front suspension knuckles, new anti-roll bars and stiffer springs and dampers settings. Carbon ceramic brakes come as a standard on this model and a degree of negative camber has been added to the front wheels, enabling a much sharper turn.

There are only 250 models set to be made, each carrying a numbered plaque signed by Jaguar Design Director, Ian Callum. Order books are open now and the first of these models are expected to be delivered from the middle of next year with prices confirmed by Jaguar for around £135,000.
