Lamborghini Aventador SVJ officially revealed
The eagerly awaited Lamborghini Aventador SVJ has been revealed at the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The SVJ (Superveloce Jota) will officially become the fastest Lamborghini currently on sale, with 795bhp, a 2.8 second 0-62mph time and a 217mph top speed. The SVJ also holds the record for the fastest production car at the Nurburgring, with a blistering time of 6 minutes 44.97 seconds.
The SVJ will use a fettled version of Lamborghini’s naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 to produce 29bhp more than the current Aventador S. The SVJ will match the power output of the low volume Centenario. Four-wheel steering will feature and an updated version of Lamborghini’s active aerodynamics system (ALA 2.0) will be used, which includes redesigned air inlets and improved aerodynamics. The brand claim the SVJ has 40% more downforce than the Aventador SV, thanks to its huge rear wing, larger side air intakes, tweaked underbody and prominent aerodynamic bodywork.
900 SVJ’s will be built, with an additional 63 produced in the 63 Edition guise, which features a bespoke colour scheme celebrating the brands 1963 launch. UK starting prices are expected to be around £356,000, with first deliveries expected in early 2019.
