Lamborghini unveil new Huracan Perfomante
Lamborghini revealed the newest Huracan model at the Geneva Motor Show. The new model is lighter and the most performance focused in the range.
The Huracan range sits below the Aventador in the Supercar line up, however this new model helps to bridge the gap even more. The new Huracan Performante was at Nurburgring testing last week and performed extremely well with a lap time of 6:52.01.
The track-honed model is lighter and more powerful than the standard. The foundations are made of a mixture of aluminium and carbonfibre. The chassis and suspension are stiffer to accommodate the increase in power. The Performante benefits from lightweight composites used to forge the engine cover, rear bumper, diffuser and front and rear spoilers, which has shaved off 40kgs.
The extreme Huracan runs on a tweaked version of the naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine. It has an increased 631bhp and 442lb ft of torque and is capable of a rapid 0-62mph in 2.9 seconds with a flat out speed of over 202mph. The car is fitted with a tuned seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and comes with Lambo’s four-wheel drive system.
The Huracan Perfomante features new active aerodynamics, including Lamborghini’s Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA) system, which has helped increase downforce. The advanced aerodynamics and aero vectoring reduce drag and maximise acceleration.
The exterior has matt and gloss carbonfibre trim that accentuate the aerodynamics. There are Narvi 20-inch alloys and Pirelli tyres. The interior is finished in Alcantara and is highly customizable.
Pricing starts from £173,271 (excl. tax) and will go on sale in summer 2017.
