Leaked images show new BMW 8 Series concept
Pictures of BMW’s hotly-anticipated 8 Series concept have been leaked ahead of its official unveiling at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
The rakish new car retains the two-door coupe layout of the original 8 Series, launched in 1989. No technical information has been released yet, but the concept is expected to influence a production model, due out next year. Trademarks recently registered by BMW indicate a high-performance M8 variant is already in the works.
The car is likely to be based on the same CLAR architecture as the 5 and 7 Series, and could feature a 601bhp 6.6-litre V12 engine for the range-topper.
Further information will be released on the 26th May, when the concept is revealed near Lake Como in Italy.
