Lexus reveal new range-topping 467bhp LC 500 coupe
The new four-seat Lexus LC 500 coupe will act as flagship for the company, as it seeks to project a more dynamic brand image.
Unveiled at the Detroit motor show, the LC 500 coupe will be powered by a naturally aspirated 5.0 litre V8 engine, delivering 467bhp and 389lb ft of torque. Capable of 0-60mph in under 4.5 seconds, the new Lexus features a ten speed single-clutch gearbox and is configured for a grand tourer-style driving experience. The car’s new rear-wheel drive platform combines a mix of high strength steel and aluminium, for an almost ideal 52/48 weight distribution. A carbon fibre roof is also available as an option.
In terms of design, Lexus has focused on premium detailing throughout. Externally the LC 500 features the trademark Lexus grille, triple-LED headlamps, a rear diffuser and functional air vents. An active rear spoiler and 21in forged wheels are optional. The interior will be finished in leather and Alcantara trim, and Lexus will debut its new 2017 multimedia system, with smart tech, a Pioneer sterio as standard and an optional Mark Levinson audio system.
The LC 500 is due to launch in 2017, with pricing expected to be around £90,000.
