Lexus unveil new range-topping LC 500

The new LC 500 from Lexus aims to compete with the Porsche 911. The performance Coupe will be available as a V8 and Hybrid with all the bells and whistles.

The new Lexus LC 500 and LC 500 hybrid will be performance focused while offering new technology and luxury comfort.

The LC500 runs on a naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 powertrain producing a massive 467bhp. The car is capable of 0-60mph in less than 4.5 seconds. The V8 model is linked to a new 10-speed automatic transmission. The LC500 sits on a steel and aluminium platform with the marques new rear-wheel drive system.

The cars weight ratio is an impressive 52/48 split to ensure good handling.

The hybrid LC500h is powered by a 3.6-litre V6 engine combined with an electric motor and linked to a CVT system.

Lexus has given the LC500 an aggressive edge adding a sound generator to the V8 cabin. The interior features a 10.25 display with modern infotainment system, 2017 multimedia pack, digital dashboard and a plush leather finish with heated and ventilated seats. There is full LED lighting and 20-inch alloys. The heads-up display and Mark Levinsen stereo systems are optional extras.

Lexus’s Sport Pack and Sport Pack+ come at an added premium. They include upgrades such as an carbonfibre roof panel, 21-inch alloys and leather and alacantara trim interior. The Pack+ gets a retractable rear spoiler, limited slip diff as well as four-wheeling steering.

Both the V8 and hybrid Lexus LC 500will go on sale in summer 2017. Pricing starts at £76,595 for the range-topping V8 and the same for the hybrid.
