Lotus Exige S Update Featuring Automatic 6 Speed Paddle Shift

Lotus release new updates to its Exige S with the addition of a six speed paddle shift automatic model for an extra £2000 premium.

The model features two modes, Sport and Race, to give quicker and more responsive changes, and column mounted paddles for sharp overrides. Lotus claims that Exige S can shift cogs in 240 miliseconds in its fastest mode.

The firm assures us that the Exige S is actually quicker than the manual and it dispatches the 0-62mph sprint in 3.8 seconds. CO2 emissions are also reduced to 222g/km and fuel economy jumps up to 29.4mpg.

The Exige S is anticipated to open up a new market for Lotus and according to Lotus CEO, Jean-Marc Gales, ‘…We expect that the Exige S Automatic will account for over a third of the total global sales for the Exige S range as many drivers will appreciate the involvement of a manual paddle-shift and the convenience of an automatic.’
