Lotus reveal special edition Exige 350

Lotus has unveiled its third and final special edition car, concluding their 50th anniversary at Hethel HQ celebratory models. The Exige 350 Special Edition receives bespoke styling and weight-savings.

The new model completes the trilogy of 50th anniversary models, which includes the Evora 400 Hethel Edition and the Elise 250 Special Edition.

The new special edition weights 1099kg, 26kg less than the standard model. The car features carbonfibre seats and an upgraded, lighter lithium ion battery to help save weight. The car’s forged alloy wheels and braking system have also been tweaked to make the car lighter.

The aerodynamics are different to the standard, featuring the front access panel found on the Exige Cup 360. The Cup’s panel helps the 350 improve ventilation and airflow to the front radiator.

The car uses the same supercharged V6 engine producing 345bhp, linked to a manual 6-speed gearbox. Lotus claim the special edition will do 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 170mph. Cruise control comes as standard.

The interior can be finished in a choice of black Leather or Alcantara with contrasting stitching. The exterior is offered in four colours; Dark Metallic Grey, Motorsport Black, Old English White and Essex Blue. The paintjob is finished with a contrasting coloured strip running the length of the car’s exterior.

Only 50 will be built and the Exige 350 Special Edition starts at £61,900.
