Maserati GranTurismo given a fresh facelift for 2018

The GranTurismo is approaching its 10th birthday, and Maserati is releasing an updated model to mark the special occasion.

The GT has been given both an aesthetic and technological update, starting with the re-profiled front fascia, inspired by the Maserati Alferi concept car. As well as an aesthetic change, functionality is further improved with the accompanying lower, larger intake ducts, improving airflow distribution and reducing the drag coefficient from 0.33 to 0.32. The rear of the car also receives a cosmetic upgrade by way of a new bumper and restyled exhaust outlets.

Updates flow throughout the cabin, with the latest FCA In-Connect infotainment system, sporting an 8.4 inch touchscreen, complemented with a redesigned centre console, aluminium rotary controller and revised button cluster.

The new model is only available in two variants, Sport and MC, and will still feature the 4.7 litre V8 Ferrari built engine, producing 453bhp at 4750rpm and 383lb ft of torque at 7000rpm. The GranTurismo Sport will hit 62 mph in 4.8 seconds, while the MC is slightly quicker at 4.7 seconds. The power is delivered via a 6-speed automatic transmission.

A UK launch date and prices are yet to be released, although pricing is expected to be in line with the current model, which costs around £90,000.
