Maserati Levante spotted testing with V8 muscle
A Maserati Levante test mule has been spotted testing in Italy using the Ferrari-built, twin-turbo V8, found in the Quattroporte GTS.
Alongside the photographer’s testimonial of the exhaust note, the updated Levante is sporting larger brakes behind the large 21-inch alloys, as well as larger front air intakes, all hinting towards the upgraded powerplant. Whilst the exact figures for the SUV haven’t been confirmed, the Quattroporte offers figures of 523bhp and 524lb ft of torque.
The introduction of the V8 into the SUV performance market has come at a pivotal time for the brand. Porsche have just released the latest Cayenne Turbo, as well as Range Rovers’ latest SVR and BMW’s new X5 M all looming on the horizon. Those who opt for the V8 can expect an array of sporty interior features to distinguish the model from the non V8 variant, including sports seats and carbon fibre trim.
Customers can expect the V8 Levante to arrive in 2018, with no indication as of yet to the asking price.
