Maserati’s new Levante SUV set for UK release

Maserati held a special event in London recently to announce the opening of the UK order book for the new Levante.

The only SUV to be produced by Maserati will be on sale in June, and pricing will start at £54,335 for the diesel engine. A 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine from Ferrari is being deliberated for later release, only in the UK market. The hybrid variant will not be available until 2018.

The new SUV is available with three optional trim packs for an added premium. The Sport Pack and the Luxury Pack will set you back £60,285. The top of the range Luxury Pack ‘Zegna Edition’ costs £61,185.

The Levante runs on a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6, producing 271bhp and is capable of 0-62mph in 6.9 seconds with a top speed of 143mph.

As the only SUV produced by the firm, demand is expected to be high – the Levante is expected to account for 50% of Maserati’s total sales. Those wanting to get their hands on the hotly anticipated model will have to get their orders in quickly. First deliveries are expected in the autumn.
