Mercedes announce AMG GT S Roadster

Mercedes have announced they will add an AMG GT S Roadster to its ranks, sitting between the AMG GT and AMG GT C Roadsters. The GT S will feature the same 4-litre twin-turbo V8 as its siblings, but with 515bhp. This will produce a 0-62mph time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 191mph.

The GT S has been created to fill the gap between the GT and GT C Roadster, although it will be more closely aligned to its bigger brother, the GT C. It will share certain components with the GT C, such as the adaptive suspension, variable performance exhaust and electronically controlled limited-slip differential. The GT S will opt for a softer suspension setup than the GT C, narrower rear tyres and no rear-wheel steering. However, for those wanting rear-wheel steering this can be specified on the options list through adding the ‘Dynamic Plus Package’.

First deliveries are expected in July 2018, with prices starting from £126,730, sitting nicely between the GT and GT C priced at £111,400 and £140,730 respectively.
