Mercedes-Benz S-Class updated for 2016
The new S-Class has been spotted ahead of its debut later this year. Images reveal the S-Class will receive a host of updates to the interior and a slight facelift to the exterior.
The flagship luxury range has been given a refresh and is expected to debut shortly. The major updates to the saloon are to the interior and infotainment systems.
The dashboard and digital displays in the cabin have been re-envisaged to keep up with the competition. The modernized interior now features a larger, frameless dual-screen set-up controlled by touch-sensitive controls located in the centre console and gesture control could be revealed when the car makes its official debut. The upgraded infotainment system has new technology running on the most recent ‘Comand infotainment software’ developed by Mercedes. The interior receives styling tweaks and a new 3-spoke steering wheel.
The spy shots suggest that the 2016 S-Class will have some slight additions to the exterior, including new LED headlights and revised front and rear bumpers. The S-Class is expected to run on the same engines, the entry level 255bhp 3.0-litre V6 powertrain and the range-topping 577bhp 5.5-litre V8 AMG variant.
The refreshed S-Class appears to be in its final stages of testing and is likely to launch at the Shanghai Motor Show.
