Mercedes Move on Up

The latest Mercedes-Benz C-Class for 2014 has been revealed. The new model is a huge step forward for the brand as it’s claimed to be the most efficient, sophisticated and vibrant model yet. With a new rear-drive chassis in place, which is set to be used on all the big Mercedes models over the coming years, this model has even greater capacity. The key change is a significant reduction of almost 100kg in weight, yet still increasing the length and width of the car, offering passengers more leg room and a boot capacity of 480litres; equivalent to that of BMW’s. The exterior offers a much sportier design with LED headlights dominating the front of the car, which will become a standard UK design feature. The front grilles are larger with a chrome front splitter incorporated too. Mercedes have reduced the fuel consumption by 20% whilst still achieving excellent performance figures. The interior continues to host the sporty theme as the seats can now be lowered by an additional 20mm and have been reshaped to offer better support. The quality and level of equipment inside is significantly higher, with a new electronic power steering also in place. Official prices and specifications are yet to be revealed, but so far this is looking like a very strong contender for the New Year.
