Mercedes reveal new E-Class Cabriolet
Mercedes has unveiled the newest model to join the E-Class range at the Geneva Motor Show. The new drop-top model receives premium finishes and advanced tech.
The Cabriolet joins the newly released Coupe, Estate and all-terrain models. The new model mirrors the elegant, clean design language of its E-Class siblings, with a long, low silhouette, emphasised by the low shoulderline when the roof is down.
It is fitted with a fabric soft-top which is multi-layered and electrically operated. It can be raised or retracted at speeds of up to 31mph in a mere 20 seconds. The car features Mercedes’ developed Airscarf and Aircap technology to keep passengers warm even with the roof down. The interior receives the usual Mercedes advanced tech and a 12.3-inch display.
The E-Class Cabriolet is now offered with 4Matic all-wheel drive. The drop-top’s suspension is lower than the Saloon by 15mm and is sporty and agile. The car has premium LED lights at the front and rear and is fitted with 17-inch alloys as standard.
The new model is similar to the rest of the E-class range in terms of spec, trim and engine choice. There will be a range of petrol and diesel options all linked to nine-speed automatic transmissions. Later AMG and variants might be on offer.
Pricing is yet to be announced and sales are expected to start in early summer.
