Mercedes reveal sleek new E-Class Coupe
The latest addition to the E-Class family has BMW’s 6 Series firmly in its sights. The new two-door coupe is significantly larger than its predecessor and boasts the very latest Mercedes technology, including semi-autonomous capability.
Its sweeping exterior lines are complimented by the flowing cabin design, featuring a gently curved dash, trimmed in pale wood on luxury finishes or a more sporty AMG-styled fascia. The jet engine design theme is continued internally with turbine-style air-con vents.
As standard, the coupe comes with 19-inch wheels, LED lights front and rear, heated front seats, an 8.4-inch media system and parking sensors with reversing camera. There will be a choice of one diesel and three petrol units at launch, with the E400 4Matic V6 petrol leading the pack. The range-topper delivers 328bhp and a 0-62mph time of 5.3sec. All four models come with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
First deliveries of the new coupe will arrive in April 2017, with pricing starting at £40,135 for the E220d, rising to £50,775 for the E400 4Matic.
