Morgan and Selfridges reveal EV3 1909 Edition
Morgan and Selfridges have collaborated for a new special edition EV3. The new bespoke model will be on display at the Geneva Motor Show.
The EV3 UK 1909 Edition is a stunning partnership between the brands. Both were formed in 1909 and only 19 special editions are being produced.
The Selfridges edition is an electric version of the 3-wheeled EV3 powered by a 20kW lithium battery and a liquid-cooled 46kW motor. The bespoke Morgan has a range of around 120-150 miles from charged. The cars top speed is 90mph and is capable of 0-60mph in 9 seconds.
The 1909 weights just under 500kg and is the first Morgan car to feature carbon composite body panels. The side pods, tonneau cover and bonnet all use the lightweight material. The front end has been redesigned and now features inboard headlights and brass cooling fins.
The styling has been a luxury edge added by Selfridges. There is bronze themed detailing throughout, in homage to Selfridges. The hubcaps, plagues and dials are examples of Selfridges influence.
The special edition is completed with a bespoke driving kit commissioned by Selfridge’s. Nine iconic British brands contributed to the kit. There is a Belstaff waxed jacket, a Richard James tweed jacket, a scarf from Alexander McQueen and weather resistant overalls from Christopher Raeburn.
The Morgan EV3 UK 1909 Edition is selling fast and only a handful of the 19 are left. Production should start in late 2017 and prices will be announced at the Geneva Motor Show.
