New 2018 Bentley Continental GT revealed

Bentley have released details of the 2018 Continental GT, ahead of its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The new Continental GT takes styling inspirations from a mixture of the Bentayga, EXP 10 Speed 6 Bentley concept car and the previous Continental GT, resulting in a refreshed but familiar look. The GT now utilises the latest MSB platform from the VW group, meaning it shares similar components with the new Porsche Panamera.

The latest GT will benefit from ‘Bentley Dynamic Ride’, a system that utilises 48V electrics to electronically control the anti-roll bars, as part of a concerted effort by the enginerring department to create a tourer with sports car handling when called upon. This is enhanced by Bentleys latest air suspension system, which boasts 60 per cent more air volume than previously.

The new Conti is launching with a refreshed 6.0-litre W12 power plant, generating 626 bhp and an immense 900Nm of torque between 1,750rpm and 4,000rpm. The W12 engine is coupled with an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox and all-wheel drive, resulting in a 0-62mph time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 207mph.

Prices are yet to be confirmed for the new Continental, however dealers have been taking deposits and the first deliveries are expected to be with customers in the first quarter of 2018.
