The new 604bhp Mercedes-AMG E63

Mercedes-AMG has revealed it’s third generation E63 4Matic+ saloon ahead of the official debut at the LA Motor Show.

The new super saloon runs on AMG’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine and will be available in a standard and a range-topping ‘S’ model. The standard AMG E63 produces 563bhp and 553lb ft of torque, capable of sprinting from 0-62mph in 3.5 seconds. The E63 S has been tuned to produce a massive 604bhp and 626lb ft of torque, resulting in a 0-62mph time of 3.4 seconds. Both versions have a limited top speed of 155mph, which can be lifted to 186mph with the Driver’s pack.

The engine is linked to a nine-speed Speedshift MCT automatic gearbox and the car comes standard with all-wheel drive. The AMG model features cylinder deactivation, air suspension and a new Drift Mode pack. When activated Drift Mode switches the car from all-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive.

The styling has been updated and AMG has given the car some sportier tweaks. The car receives a new front splitter, new bumpers, wider wheel arches, an AMG-specific grille and rear spoiler.

The Mercedes-AMG E63 4Matic+ will make it’s public debut at the LA Motor Show in November.  It is expected to go on sale in UK at the start of 2017.
