New engines for the Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport

Land Rover has announced plans to introduce a new range of Ingenium four-cylinder engines for the Evoque and Discovery Sport.

Replacing the old 237bhp 2.0-litre turbo engine, the all-new Si4 Ingenium units will ouput 237bhp and 286bhp respectively.  MPG and CO2 figures will be improved and there will also be performance gains over the old petrol engine.

The new Evoque 237bhp engine will deliver 38.7mpg (2.5mpg more than the old car), while the 286bhp model will sprint from 0-62mph in 6.0 seconds.  The Evoque will also be offered with the 237bhp twin-turbo SD4 diesel from the new Discovery.

In addition to the mechanical upgrades, there will also be optional sports seats and a refreshed colour palette.

Pricing is yet to be released, but is expected to be higher than the current top of the range engine models.
