New Hennessey Venom F5 could top 300mph

Texan manufacturer, Hennessey, has released two new teaser images of its upcoming Venom F5 hypercar.

Unlike its predecessor, the Venom GT, which was a re-bodied Lotus Elise, the F5 will be based on a bespoke chassis, built from scratch by Hennessey’s designers.  A Chevrolet-based V8 turbo is expected, delivering around 1479bhp, 0-60mph in 2 seconds and a top speed approaching 300mph.

Hennessey clearly have the fastest car world record in their sights, but they face stiff competition from the Bugatti Chiron and Koenigsegg Regera.

The Venom F5 is due to enter production later this year.
