New Porsche 911 992 – first pictures
First pictures of the new 2019 Porsche 911 992 have emerged. The 2019 Porsche 911 has been pictured testing with minimal disguise on roads in Germany. As well as the obvious exterior styling upgrades, the new 911 will feature a host of mechanical upgrades, including a hybrid powertrain. The hotly anticipated 911 992 is due to be publicly unveiled at the LA motor show in November.
The 992-generation 911 will be the first to be offered with a hybrid option. The hybrid 911 will be introduced in 2020 and it will consist of a flat-six engine with an electric motor, which reportedly could generate over 700bhp and an electric boost button. The entire 911 range will use turbocharged six-cylinder engines, signalling the end of the naturally aspirated units. The regular Turbo is expected to have 592bhp, 61bhp more than the current Turbo, which will boast a 0-62mph time below three seconds. The range-topping Turbo S will feature a revised version of the current cars 3.8-litre flat-six, which will offer 630bhp, 50bhp more than the current Turbo S and a 0-62mph time below its current time of 2.9 seconds.
The standard Carrera and Carrera S will benefit from an extra 10-15bhp, with the GT3 expected to offer over 500bhp. The new Porsche 911 is scheduled to be launched in 2019.
