New Porsche 911 Turbo is faster than ever
Following on from the recent upgrades to the 911 Carrera models, Porsche has now uprated the Turbo and Turbo S.
The Turbo’s 3.8 litre twin-turbo flat six has been given a 20bhp power boost, and now delivers 533bhp, 0-62mph in 3 seconds and a top speed of 198mph. The even faster 572bhp Turbo S now has a staggering top speed of 205mph and races from 0-62mph in a mere 2.9 seconds.
The driving modes are now controlled via a manettino-style rotary switch on the 918 spyder-esque steering wheel, and a new ‘dynamic boost’ function cuts throttle lag for faster, more responsive driving.
Cosmetic updates include new LED lights, 3D effect tail-lights, new air intakes, grilles and wider wheels. Internally, there’s a much-improved multimedia system with internet enabled sat-nav mapping.
Both models are on sale, with first deliveries from the end of January. Pricing starts at £126,925 for the Coupe and £145,773 for the Cabriolet.
