One of only 24 Aston Martin Vulcans up for auction

Although only newly released by Aston Martin, one of the very rare track-only Vulcans is making its way to Mecum’s Monterey Auction.

The Vulcan will be one of the star cars at the 600-car auction and offers a rare chance to buy one.

The Vulcan up for auction is number 11 of 24, and is finished in metallic purple paint.  It’s powered by a stunning 7.0-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine, delivering 800bhp. The Vulcan is Aston Martin’s most intense track car, and is inspired by its racing sibling the GT3.  It is capable of 0-60mph in 3 seconds and has a top speed of over 200mph.

Although designed purely for the track, RML in Northamptonshire is currently developing a conversion kit for various countries to turn the Vulcan into a fully road legal supercar.

The Vulcan hasn’t been given an estimated winning bid, but can be expected to go for near its initial asking price of £1.8 million.  The Monterey auction takes place between the 18th -20th August.
