One-of-a-kind Aston Martin Vantage GT12 Roadster

Aston Martin’s personalisation division, ‘Q by Aston Martin’, has unveiled a bespoke creation commissioned by one of its customer. The Aston Martin Vantage GT12 Roaster is the first time the Q division has made a unique, completely new car.

The one-off soft-top creation took 9 months to design and develop and required balancing the softened chassis and aerodynamics. The Roadster has the same underpinnings as the GT12 Coupe, such as the carbon fibre front splitter, bonnet, front wings and rear diffuser.  The Roaster receives additional aerodynamic elements and tweaked suspension, with the ABS system and stability control adjusted to the weight of the car.

The Roadster is powered by the same engine as the Coupe, a 6-litre naturally aspirated V12, which is linked to a seven-speed Speedshift III automatic gearbox. The  car delivers 595bhp, 461lb ft of torque and is capable of sprinting from 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds.

There’s a canvas folding roof, carbon ceramic brakes, adaptive dampers and a titanium exhaust system. The unnamed client paid an extra premium to keep this GT12 Roadster as a one-off.

Aston’s boss, Andy Palmer, wanted to showcase the Roadster at Goodwood to illustrate Q division’s ability to create customer-lead designs. Aston Martin hopes to expand this section of their business, offering a bespoke commissioning service for any client willing to pay the price.

No pricing has been revealed for the Vantage GT12 Roadster, however expect to pay around £400K-£500K for your custom, one-off Aston Martin.
