One-off Ferrari to star at the Paris Show
Artcurial, the prestigious French auction house, has revealed a very rare one-of-a-kind Ferrari Prototype will be the main attraction at their 2017 Paris auction.
The unique Ferrari Dino 206 P Berinette Speciale Prototype was built for the 1965 Paris Motor Show. The model pre-dates and inspired the well-known Dino 206, 246 GT and later the 256 Dinos.
The car was built at Pininfarina and was designed by Leonardo Fioravanti who used a 385 tubular steel frame for the cars foundation. It runs on a 2.0-litre alloy-block V6 mid-mounted engine producing 180bhp.
The car was shown at all the major motor shows before being kept in Pininfarina, until the renowned classic car collector Baron de Lassee took ownership. The prototype was then kept on display at his Le Mans Museum.
The Ferrari prototype will go under the hammer at Artcurial’s Paris Auction in October and is a collectors dream, offering a rare chance to own a piece of automotive history.
