Porsche unveil new 911 GT2 RS 935 ‘racer’

Porsche’s Motorsport division have commemorated the brands 70th anniversary by creating a new version of the legendary 935 ‘Moby Dick’ race car from the 1970’s. Only 77 models will be created which are expected to be used at Club Motorsport events and track days.

The new ‘racer’ uses the current 911 GT2 RS’s 700bhp 3.8 litre twin-turbo engine, which is paired to the same seven-speed PDK transmission from the road car. The bodywork will be replaced with lighter, carbon-fibre panels, whilst the interior follow suit with a full cage, bucket seats and a carbon fibre dashboard. This will result in a combined total weight of just 1380kg. The 935 will also feature an escape roof hatch and an instrument display from a 911 racer.

Only 77 examples of the 935 racer will be built, with a price tag from £625,000 plus taxes, with first deliveries expected in June 2019.
